Lillooet
In a Nutshell..
Perched above the might Fraser River on a lavender and green mountain side you will discover the District of Lillooet. Full of western character, rich culture and home to endless outdoor adventures; this Land of Sun and Spirit will entice you to experience its dynamic character.
An important First Nations location, the history of the Lillooet area can be traced back an estimated 10,000 years. A combination of climate and location made this valley a natural hunting, fishing and gathering locale for First Nations who traded with other nearby communities.
Lillooets location at the end of the infamous Douglas Trail and the beginning of the new Cariboo Wagon trail ensured its remembrance in the story of the B.C. gold rush; be sure to visit the Mile 0 cairn while visiting this unique community.
