Cheslatta Falls
A short drive takes you to these very beautiful falls on the Cheslatta River. An excellent place to camp and picnic.
Heritage Village Museum
Learn about the pioneering history in the Heritage Museum located in the west of town. Housed in 11 reconstructed 1920's heritage buildings, and includes the Ok Cafe.
Kenney Dam
When the Kenney Dam was built in the early 50's, it was the largest rock fill in the world.
Fishing Resorts
Vanderhoof sits in the center of a region famous for its excellent fishing. Nearby is the world class Stellako River, where fishermen pilgrimage to wet their flies. Many Lodges and restaurants are situated close to this river and Francois Lake.
Bird Sanctuary
On the north of town, 200 ha are set aside along 5 km of the Nechako River. Each spring and fall, over 50,000 migrating birds use this flyway. Call the Nechako Valley Sporting Association for more information.
